Miyajima is located in the sea off Seto Island, off the coast of Japan. Hiroshima is the closest big city and you can get here by chartered boat or by taking the ferry.

How to get to Miyajima
From downtown Hiroshima, take the tram to Miyajimaguchi Port , where the ferry leaves . From here, you can use your Japan Rail Pass to travel on this boat that only takes 10 minutes to reach the island.
Another option is to take the JR Sanyo Line to Miyamaguchi Station. However, The ferry boarding pier is a 5-minute walk from the station.
